Production of Closed-Cell Foams Out of Aluminum Chip Waste: Mathematical Modeling and Optimization

The main aim of this research is to mathematically describe the influence processing parameters metal foam production from machining chip waste. Using method, foams were produced without a remelting step, which should be both economically and environmentally effective. Firstly, expensive powders replaced with waste in form chips. Secondly, was recycled any significant material losses, usually occurs during conventional recycling (using melting process). To innovative process relate properties foaming temperature, blowing agent weight percentage, density (controlled by height), response surface methodology, design experiments used. quality evaluated determination density, yield strength, compression plateau stress, energy absorption, pore perimeter, inhomogeneity for specimens obtained following experimental plan. It proven that increased range 1.41 4.81 mm higher temperature addition agent. However, absorption strength but lower percentage TiH2. Despite chips, pores homogenous cracks. These kinds are comparable commercial made powders.
